When the Army decided to renew its site, it has also decided to bring something new to its relationship near the citizens.

Considering the great value of new technologies nowadays, with the purpose of getting Public Administration closer to the citizens, this site may constitute another step in this sense.

The information available results from the direct intervention of the several Units, Establishments and Organs. It is therefore our intention that everybody is present.

In the area of updating contents and with the purpose of an easier accomplishment, some tools have been enabled in order to permit a daily actualisation.

Therefore, in this first phase, in the Recruitment area, there are some forms available for download in order to make an application for the Volunteers / Contracted Regimes (RV/RC) to the Military Academy and Institute of Odivelas.

The application form to the Military Individual Census Statement (DIRM) is also available. These forms are presented in two models. One of them is an interactive model that can be filled using the computer keyboard. The other model is to be filled in manually. In both cases, they must be filled in by the person himself and delivered in institutional places (during the month of January of the year of the 18th birthday in the City Halls and Consulates. After the delivery date, they must be delivered directly in the Recruitment Centres).

Still in the Recruitment area, there is available a set of application models for the most different purposes, which must be filled in and delivered in the places mentioned in the instructions.

The Advertisements for the classification and selection proofs, which until now could only be consulted in the city halls, are now available on line.

Since the Army disposes of a database about the Legislation of military interest, the access to some of the updated diplomas is also available.

In case of interest to subscribe the Jornal do Exército (Newspaper of the Army), the respective form can also be found there. After duly filled, it may be sent by mail to the correspondent address.

The instrumental register of the National Anthem has been recorded by the Musical Band of the Army and it makes part of the book of songs that mat be heard and recorded by download of the file. The same procedure may be used for other themes of military character.

Some projects to be introduced in this page are still being developed. A special reference may be made to the possibility of two more databases; one about Libraries and the other one concerning the Military Historical Archive.
